TOUR ROUTE Bangalore-Coimbatore -Mettupalayam -Coonoor-Ooty-Masingudi-Sultan Bathery -Vythiri -Raviz Kadavu – Thrissur via Guruvayur- Cochin



Day 01: Bangalore

Arrive at Bangalore international airport, meet – great with our office representative and your bicycle tour guide & transfer to your pre booked hotel.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Bangalore - Coimbatore

Morning after breakfast transfer to Bangalore airport to board flight to Coimbatore.Later on check your bikes and gear, etc. You may go for 10 kms of cycling around your hotel so that you can check your bikes and our mechanic can prepare your bikes according to your need for the tour.
(Approx 10 kms of cycling to check bikes)

Day 03: Coimbatore - Mettupalayam

Morning after breakfast, we load our bikes on coach and drive for approx 10 kms to avoid the busy roads of Coimbatore. We unload our bikes and go cycling at the outskirts of Coimbatore. Today we will drive towards north to Mettupalayam; Agriculture is the occupation of most of the people. It is surrounded by lot of villages, fertile enough for agriculture. Mettupalayam is the starting point for two of the Ghats roads into the Nilgiri Hills. Subsequently it has established itself for the trade of fresh fruits & vegetables coming down from the hills and also for produce that grows on the plains and is destined for the hills.
Noon arrive and check-into hotel for lunch.
Afternoon we will cycling for the short sightseeing of Mettupalayam; visit the Black Thunder a water theme park located near to our hotel, that attracts many tourists. It has attractive rides such as The Lazy River, Wave Pool, Thrillarium, Surf Hill, Cannon Ball, Aqua Bowl and Side Winder,
After visit return back to hotel.

Day 04: Mettupalayam - Coonoor

After breakfast we will start cycling from our hotel to Coonoor. It is a famous hill station and is known for its great picnic spots and picturesque surroundings. Coonoor provides the traveler with the panoramic view of the lush green Nilgiri hills, with its ravines, valleys, and waterfalls. The trip provides some breathtaking views of the Nilgiri hills in all its natural glory. One side you have Toy train and other side the river Kallar. After 20 kms cycling we will stop on the way have picnic lunch (packed lunch from hotel). After lunch continue cycling to Coonoor.
We will again stop at Laws Falls; The Place is a beautiful picnic spot, situated at the distance of 7 km from Coonoor. The height of the falls is about 180 feet. There are vast stretches of undisturbed sholas and it is a paradise for Naturalists.
Afternoon arrive and check-into hotel.
Later we will make a short sightseeing of Coonoor town. Visit the Sim’s Park; The park is situated in a deep ravine on the Northern side of Coonoor Railway Station at an elevation of 1768 to 1798 m. and also visit tea gardens and on a way back to hotel via Golf links owned by Wellington Defence College.
If time permit we can go to The Dolphin’s Nose Viewpoint Which is 10 km from Coonoor, is an important place to visit. It not only provides a panoramic view of the vast expanse of the Nilgiri hills but also of the famous Catherine Falls. Lady Canning’s seat is another notable viewpoint on the way.

Day 05: Coonoor – Ooty via Doddabeta Peak

After breakfast in the hotel and gear up our bikes and start cycling towards Ooty via Doddabeta Peak. We will drive from the different road today so that we will not find bus and cars on the road. We will make the few small stops on the way to visit The Hecuba Peak (2375 m), The Kattadadu Peak (2418 m) and The Kulkudi Peak (2439 m). After 3 hrs (around 20 kms) cycling we will make the stop on the way for picnic lunch (packed lunch from hotel). After lunch we will start again cycling to Doddabeta Peak. The Doddabetta Peak is said to be one of the highest peak in (8650 ft) in the Nilgiri Hills. You can simply click amazing pictures of the valley below grab your camera and head straight to the peak, and. On a clear day, which is honestly not that often, one can see far off areas, even the plains of Coimbatore and the flat highlands of Mysore. After visit continue cycling 10 kms to reach Ooty, the area surrounding is mostly forested. Sholas cover the hollows of its slopes. Slightly stunted, rhododendron trees, in the midst of thick coarse grass, flowering sub-alpine shrubs and herbs are common. Arrive and check-into hotel and rest of the day at leisure for your relax.

Day 06:Ooty

Afer breakfast cycling tour of Ooty, we will firstly visit the Botanical Garden; Well maintained lush green lawns, exotic and rare species of flora are special features of the park. The gardens were established by European residents William Graham McIvor. Therefore we will visit the Government Museum; set up in 1989, Theexhibits of Tribal Reminiscence, District Ecological details and sculptural arts and crafts displays of Tamil Nadu are special attraction in this museum. After that we will return to hotel to have lunch at hotel.
Afternoon we will cycling to visit the TODA village; The uniqueness of the half – barrel shaped houses given speculations regarding their origin ranged from Rome to Sumeria. The Toda village is called a mund, means a herd or cattle – pen. It is usually a collection of three or five half barrel shaped huts each 18 feet by 9 feet by 10 feet high with a small doorway measuring only 32 inches by 18 inches. After visit return back to hotel.

Day 07: Ooty - Masinagudi

After breakfast we will start cycling from hotel to Masinagudi. The road fully covered by wild life, we may have chance to see few wildlife animals. We will make few stops en route to enjoy the nature. After 3 hrs cycling we will have picnic lunch on the way (packed lunch from hotel). After lunch we will continue cycling to Masingudi; loaded with an enticing natural appeal. Masinagudi is a prime bird watching are in Nilgiris. It also holds an isolated southern population of the Striped Tit-babbler.
Late afternoon arrive and check-into lodge. Rest of the day at leisure for your own activities.
We will gather again in the evening to enjoy the dinner near to bonfire.

Day 08: Masinagudi - Sultan Bathery

Early morning tea in the lodge and we will go for safari by jeep in Madumalai National Park.
On a way back visit the Theppakkadu Elephant Camp; is one of the oldest camps in the Country. It was established way back in 1927. One can learn about the feeding habits of the elephants, especially camp elephants and their routine. After breakfast start cycling to Sultan Bathery, today we have long way to discover. We will pass through the jungle of Madumalai and then we will take the main road from Ooty to Sultan Bathery. We will make few stops en route to take some rest and to enjoy the beauty of the nature. After 2 hrs cycling and passing the Madumalai national park we will stop in Gudalur to have our picnic lunch (packed lunch from resort). After lunch continue drive to Sultan Bathery. The town in olden days served as a military post of Tipu Sultan and the Sultan had a battery placed here, hence the name Sultan Battery. The town was previously called Hennaradu Peedike (Twelve Shops). The town is at an altitude of 930 meters. The place is famous for its Jain temple.
Evening arrive and check-into hotel.

Day 09: Sultan Bathery

Ater breakfast we will cycling to visit the famous Edakkal Caves. This location of breathtaking beauty in the Ambukuthy Mountain is not a cave in the real sense. The caves accessible only by a 1 km trekking trail from Edakkal. After visit we will have picnic lunch at Edakkal.
After visit return back to Sultan Battery and explore the nearby places Bathery Cathedral and Tippu’s fort.

Day 10: Sultan Bathery - Vythiri

After breakfast start cycling to Vythiri. We will cycling down to the Kerala through the lush green undulating mountains capped by mist, the gorges and ravines, the beautiful valleys and the streams of this area are just an extension of the nature’s bounty that the interiors of the district offers.

Afternoon arrive and check-into hotel.

Day 11: Vythiri - Raviz Kadavu.

After breakfast start cycling to Kozhikode through steep mountains and a journey through the nine hairpin curves from Downhill to Lakkidi, the serpentine ghat pass is worth an experience. We will make our first stop to visit the en route Thusharagiri falls is located in a small tribal village; literally meaning ‘snow covered mountains’. After that we will continue around 1 hour to stop at Thamarassery Ghat to have picnic lunch and enjoy the pictures view of the Kerala. After lunch cycling to your hotel WelcomHotel Raviz Kadavu.

Day 12: Raviz Kadavu - Thrissur.

Post breakfast, get ready for a fascinating tour and take in the sights and soak in the regal history of Udaipur. Lunch at a city restaurant. Enjoy an evening boat ride at Lake Pichola and watch the sun go down over the city. You also visit the Jag Mandir palace, situated in the middle of the lake and hence also known as the “Lake Garden Palace”.

Day 13: Thrissur -Cochin

After breakfast drive to Cochin – a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as ‘God’s Own Country’.
Noon arrive and check-into hotel for lunch. Afternoon enjoy the Kathakali dance show; it is a traditional dance form of Kerala and the impressive facial expressions, hand gestures and dance moves will leave one spellbound.

Day 14: Cochin

After breakfast cycling tour of Fort Cochin a stroll along the beach, particularly at sunrise with the Chinese fishing nets and sailing ships in the background, is a memorable experience. Later take the day houseboat cruise in the backwaters of Kerala. The cruise commences at 1200 hrs and lunch is served on board and continues till dusk. At dusk we will leave boat and drive to Cochin.

Houseboat (Kettuvallam) is a kind of house boat in Kerala, India. Kettuvallam literally means “bundle” or “package” boat ( Kettu means tied with ropes, and vallam means boat – Malayalam language). A house boat is about 60 to 70 feet in length and has a width of around 15 feet in the middle. The boat is made of wooden planks joined and stiched together using coconut fiber ropes.Usually the wood used will be ‘Anjili’, The roof covering is made of bamboo poles and palm leaves. The outside of the boat is painted using cashew nut oil, which acts as a protective coating. During the time when road and rail transportation was expensive or unavailable, traders used Kettuvallam as a form of main transportation in the inland waterways. The boats had enough facilities for cooking and sleeping for the boatmen. Sometimes boatmen’s families also accompanied them. These boatmen were also famous for the folk songs they sang while rowing the boat and for their style of cooking which they developed for the conditions inside the boat.


Day 15: Cochin

Morning after breakfast drive by coach to Cochin international airport to board the schedule flight to go back to home.
