TOUR ROUTE Kolkata-Guwahati-Pobitora-Moirabari-Tezpur-Nameri National park-Nameri-Tipi-Dahung-Bomdila-Dirang-Senge-Sela Pass-Jang-Tawang-Dirang-Bhalukpong-Tezpur-Kolkata



Day 01: Kolkata

Arrive at Kolkata international airport, meet – great with our office representative, bicycle tour guide & transfer to your pre booked hotel.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Kolkata – Guwahati

After breakfast transfer to the airport to connect flight to Guwahati. Arrive Guwahati, meet our representative and transfer to hotel and check-in.

Check and gear up your cycles. We will have a 10 kms stretch to check cycles; we can visit the most famous temple The Kamakhya Temple.


Day 03: Guwahati - Pobitora

Today we drive out of town heading east taking the back road to Pobitora wild life sanctuary. As soon as we cross the city limits we climb on to our Bicycles. This road is not much used and goes through interesting terrain – by the side of the Brahmaputra River for some distance and then through busy villages and through a forested area before reaching Pobitora.

Day 04: Pobitora - Moirabari

Morning jeep safari in the sanctuary. After visit today we will cycling on the banks of the Brahmaputra river, we will cross thought the Pobitora wild life sanctuary and local village of Mayong nearby, well known in Assam for its black magic though it is on the wane nowadays.

Overnight stay at Campsite on Brahmaputra River.


Day 05: Moirabari – Tezpur

Today we will continue cycling on the banks of river Brahmaputra, we will pass in the Laokhowa Wildlife park. Later stop cycling as we reach on highway, from there we will drive by car-bus to Tezpur.

Day 06: Tezpur - Nameri National park

Morning we cycle up to Nameri National park (344 Sq. km). This is a popular stop en route to Bhalukpung in Arunachal, where anglers congregate to fish for the famous golden Mahseer. Animals found here are Tiger, Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Elephant, Gaur, Wild Pigs, Sambar, Barking Deer, Hispid hare, Slow Loris, Capped Langur, Dhole, Sloth Bear,Burmese ferret Badger, Binturong etc.

We will reach and check-into forest lodge. Afternoon elephant safari in Nameri National Park.

Day 07: Nameri - Tipi

Morning walking safari in Nameri National Park. Return back to the hotel, we start cycling towards Arunachal Pradesh, Tipi. Tipi is just a small village on the way, we will stop en route in Bhalukpong (213 m) just 5 kms before Tipi. If possible we will visit the historical fort of 10th-12th Century AD is situated in the foothills of the region. Tipi is famous for Orchidariurm, which hosts over 2600 cultivated orchids from 80 different species.

Day 08: Tipi - Dahung

Today morning we will cycle to Dahung, the small village located on the river Tenga. On the way we will stop at Ptso Lake to have our picnic lunch. After that continue cycling till our campsite in Dahung.

Day 09: Dahung - Bomdila

Morning drive to Bomdila, it is a beautiful small town situated at a height of about 8000 ft. above the sea level from where one can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture and is among primary attractions of the area.

On the way enjoy the picnic lunch at Jung Falls.

Evening if time permit we will make a short sightseeing of Bomdila to visit the Mosang Monastry and Bomdia Monastry.

Day 10: Bomdila - Dirang

Today morning we will cycling to Dirang. Dirang Dzong, which is a tribal area, is on the shores of Dirang River. Views from here are spectacular.

Day 11: Dirang - Senge

After breakfast start cycling to Senge, the small village famous for snaking roads in the mountain. We will stop en route to visit the Lish tribal village.

Day 12: Senge - Sela Pass

Today we will cycle to Sela Pass the heightest point of our trip.
Sela Pass is amongst the most frequented tourist destination in the whole of Arunachal Pradesh. It owns the credit of being the only high-altitude mountain pass in the world that is motorable. This is the only way to gain access to Tawang by road. The views from Sela Pass are spectacular.

Day 13: Sela Pass - Jang

Morning start cycling toward Jang through the serpentine road. A small village on the way to Tawang. We will visit the Jaswant Garh on the way (the war memorial village) also stop at Jang Falls to have picnic lunch.
Might get a chance to see the Kitpi tribal village. Also visit the Jung Gompa (the Tibetan Monestry).

Day 14: Jang - Tawang

Today we will cycle to Tawang, last town before the border of China. Tawang holds you tight with its unparalleled beauty and your senses marvel at the gift of nature displayed in every inch of the land. Visit the second largest monastery in Asia and the largest in India is the Tawang Monastery. It was established by Mera Lama Lodre Gyasto during the 17th century. It is situated amidst picturesque landscape. Followers of Buddhism attach high importance to Tawang Monastery, as it is a centre where young Buddhist monks learn about the essence of Buddhist culture.

Day 15: Tawang

Day at leisure to relax or you may explore the town.
If you wish we can organize the day excursion to Shonga-tser Lake is famously called Madhuri Lake. An earthquake in this region resulted in the formation of Shonga-tser Lake in 1971, which until then was grassland that served the cattle of the locals here. The lake with picturesque snow-capped mountains surrounding it and the valley offer spectacular views. You are encouraged to take a casual stroll along the pathways around Shonga-tser Lake. The lake is an absolute delight for the photographers.

Day 16: Tawang - Dirang

After breakfast drive to Dirang (200 kms – 7 hrs).
Arrive and check-into hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 17: Dirang - Bhalukpong

After breakfast drive to Bhalukpong (140 kms – 6 hrs).
Arrive and check-into hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 18: Bhalukpong - Tezpur - Kolkata

Early morning drive to Tezpur airport to board the flight to Kolkata (58 kms – 1.5 hrs).
On arrival in Kolkata and transfer to hotel.

Day 19: Kolkata

Morning after breakfast drive by coach to Kolkata international airport to board the schedule flight to go back to home.
