Early morning proceed for the sunrise boat ride on holy river Ganga. From the boat view several banks of the river on which the entire city is settled. While returning we can see several devotees taking holy dip into the river Ganga and offering river water through their hand to rising sun. After sightseeing drive back to the hotel breakfast and relax. Later explore the narrow lanes and colorful market crowded with people, cows and monkey.
After local sightseeing drive to Prayagraj where the world famous Kumbh Mela takes place. The Kumbh mela is recorded as the ‘INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY’ by UNESCO. Pack lunch enroute journey. On arrival at Prayagraj, check-in at Safari Camp and enjoy Ginger Masala tea in Kulhad(Traditional tea cup), during check in Camp CRM will inform the scheduled activities for your stay duration. This morning, participate 1 hour session of Yoga and meditation, have breakfast and off to enjoy a guided tour to the the world’s largest, temporary tented city of Akharas. An Akhara is a place of practice with facilities for boarding, lodging and training on the path of spiritual enlightenment. The Juna Akhara one of the largest sects in Kumbh Mela. The sadhus are divided into four major categories – Nagas (Sanyasis), Vairagi (Mundies), Udasi and Nirmala (Nanak Sahi). These four categories are then further organized into different Akharas. Lunch time visit at campsite.

Morning after breakfast proceed to visit the World Famous monument – ‘The Taj Mahal’, symbol of love followed by visit to Agra Fort, where Mughal Emperor Shahjahan who built Taj Mahal was prisoned till death by his own son. After sightseeing drive back to the hotel for lunch. Post lunch drive to Delhi. If time permits proceed for the sightseeing of Delhi and transfer to the restaurant for dinner. After dinner drive to Delhi airport and board the flight back home. We can include one more day for Delhi sightseeing and depart on Day 10.

INTERNATIONAL YOG FESTIVAL  2019

International Yoga Festival has been taking place in Rishikesh since 1989, organized first by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, and then by the Government of Uttarakhand since 2001. Since 1999, Parmarth Niketan has been hosting this world renowned event which has grown to international acclaim and which grows in size year after year. This year the festival is jointly organized by the Uttarakhand Tourism, Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam and Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

Yogacharyas, teachers, students and seekers come from every corner of the globe to participate in this program. This year there are more than 70 presenters, from 20 countries, giving nearly 150 classes, from 4:00 am until 9:30 pm.

Ashtanga Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Bharat Yoga, Deep Yoga, Shintoh Yoga and Somatics Yoga are just a few of the more than 60 different offerings throughout the week. There are also classes in meditation, mudras, Sanskrit chanting, reiki, Indian philosophy and much more. Further, spiritual discourses will be held by revered spiritual leaders from India and abroad.

There will also be cultural dance/music performances highlighting the culture of this Himalayan Garhwal region as well as music from musicians from Israel, Australia and the U.S.

THE PROGRAMME – 07 DAYS / 06 NIGHTS

International Yoga Festival is grounded in the authentic origin of Yoga. Practice and learn from masters from traditional yoga lineages of India, as well as masters of international yoga schools & styles.

During the one-week Festival, you will have the opportunity to participate in over 70 hours of Yoga classes from world-class Yoga teachers practicing multiple styles of Yoga including Kundalini Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and Kriya Yoga. The participants will also be blessed with the presence, satsang and divine words of revered saints and spiritual masters from within India.

While each day’s class offerings vary from day-to-day, the general daily program of IYF includes:

  • Daily classes start from 4am.
  • Every day at 6.30am we hold a one-hour yoga class, followed by a simple breakfast.
  • At 8.30am you can join one of several two-hour hour yoga sessions.
  • At 11:00 am, before lunch, we have divine and inspiring lectures from revered saints and yogacharyas on a variety of uplifting and inspiring subjects.
  • A traditional Indian lunch is served from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
  • The afternoon starts shortly after lunch with instructional classes, followed by three Yogasana classes from 3.30pm to 5.00pm.
  • From 6.00pm to 7.00pm we attend the special light ceremony, Aarti, on the banks of the river Ganga.
  • Dinner is served at 7.00pm followed by special evening programs of satsang with our spiritual leaders, cultural song and dance events, campfires and more, finishing by 9.30pm.

Vanarasi: One of the oldest living cities on earth, Vanarasi is located about 6 hours Bodhgaya route. The city is without doubt one of the most culturally vibrant cities of India located on the bank of the river Gangas. Also visit the sacred Buddhist site of Sarnath, where Buddha gave his first sermon after Enlightment.

Khajuraho: A 30 min. flight from Vanarasi takes you to the erotic Kamasutra Temple in Khaiuraho, These medieval Hindu and Jain temple as UNESCO World Heritage Site & are famous for their erotic sculpture.

Pushkar is an ancient Hindu town situated near Ajmer in Rajasthan. Pushkar means born due to a flower. Hindus believe that the god released a swan with a lotus in its beak and let the lotus fall on earth where Brahma would perform a grand yagna. The place where the lotus fell was called Pushkar and became one of the five sacred dhams (pilgrimage sites Hindus). Pushkar is also known as “Tirth Raj” – the king of pilgrimage sites.

The date of origin of Holy Pushkar town is not known but as per legend Pushkar associated with Lord Brahma. It is said that Brahma performed penance here for 60,000 years to have a glimpse of Radha and Krishna.

Pushkar has many old temples out of many destroyed by Muslim invasions but were rebuilt later. The most famous Temple of Pushkar is Lord Brahma Temple – built in 14th Centuary which is said to the only temple in the World dedicated to Lord Brahma.

Pushkar is situated around the shore of Holy Pushkar Lake. It has five main temples and many small temples. Holy Pushkar lake has 52 ghats where pilgrims have holy dip in the sacred waters.

The Pushkar Fair (Pushkar Camel Fair) – Pushkar Cattle fair takes place every year. Pushkar fair is one of the world’s largest camel or cattle fair. People come to Pushkar from all parts of Rajasthan for trade of cattles. Some come to sell and others to buy. Most of the traders move here for a week with their families and make Pushkar their home for Pushkar fair. Beside enjoying seeing live cattle trading one can also enjoy Competitions such as the Matka Phod, Longest Moustache, Bridal Competition, Camel race, Horse race and many other games played by the locals.

Suddenly Pushkar turns into a colorful town with thousand of people (men and women) come to Pushkar in their colorful attire like bracelets, clothes, textiles and colorful fabrics. Town becomes a business place for natives of Rajasthan who set their multi colored shop to sell handicrafts items they make at home. Folk Musions / dancers entertain the visitors around the Fair ground area and inside the stadium.
